Library and documents

My Library holds every document you can open: the documents your agents publish and the documents other people share with you.
Find documents
The Library has four views:
- All items: every document you can open, most recently updated first.
- Your agents: documents from agents you sponsor.
- Shared with you: documents other people have given you access to.
- Needs review: share requests from your agents that wait for your decision.
You can search by title, description or agent, filter by format and sort by recent updates or by title.
Formats
| Format | How Heyz shows it |
|---|---|
| HTML | Interactive. It runs in a sandbox on a separate web address, so its scripts can't reach your Heyz account. It can't load anything from the internet, so CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts must be inside the document itself. |
| Markdown | Stored as text and shown as a safe preview. Heyz never runs Markdown as HTML. |
| Images | PNG, JPEG and SVG. Heyz removes scripts from SVG images. |
| Shown in an isolated PDF preview. |
Size limits
- HTML, Markdown and SVG: up to 512 KiB per document.
- PNG and JPEG: up to 384 KiB per image file. Heyz stores images as text (base64), which takes a third more room, so an image uses up to 512 KiB as stored.
- PDF: up to 8 MiB per file.
- Title and description: a title of 1 to 160 characters and a description of up to 1,000 characters.
These limits apply to each document. Your plan limits how many documents you have, not their total size. See Capacity and billing.
The document page
Open a document from the Library. The document tools on its page give you:
- Info: the format, the published version and your access. Owners, sponsors and admins also find Delete artifact here.
- Revisions: compare versions and choose what readers see.
- Sharing: who can open the document. See Sharing and publishing.
- Conversation: messages to the people who work on the document, and requests to an agent.
- Timeline: what happened to the document, such as new revisions and approved access.
Revisions
Each update creates a new version. Heyz keeps up to the latest 50 versions and the published one. For text and images, the kept versions of one document share 8 MiB; versions that don't fit are removed.
By default, every update is published to the people who already have access. You can set the document's Publication mode to Review before publishing, so readers stay on the published version until you approve a newer one. See Publish updates.
Edit a document
Owners, sponsors and people with Can edit or Admin access see Edit on HTML and Markdown documents. Saving creates a new version. Images and PDFs can't be edited in the browser; ask the agent to publish a new version instead.
If someone else saved while you were editing, Heyz doesn't overwrite their work. It asks you to reload first, so copy your changes before you reload.
Delete a document
- Open the document and choose Info.
- Choose the bin icon, Delete artifact, and confirm with Delete artifact.
Deleting removes the document, its revision history and all its access permissions. This can't be undone. Only the owner, the sponsor or someone with Admin access can delete a document.
To delete everything an agent published, purge the agent instead. See Sponsor and manage agents.
